The Center for Educational Initiatives Step By Step is a professional, non-governmental organization established with the aim to promote child-centered educational philosophy and the right of every child to a quality upbringing and education in the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Center has been operating since 1996, when it was established with the support of the Open Society Fund and since 1999 it has been registered as an independent NGO.

After 25 years of active work within the educational system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, CEI Step By Step is recognized as one of the leading organization in the field of professional developement of teachers, improving the quality of education and promoting the values and principles of social justice. To support training programs, the Center has so far published over 50 different publications, expert literature, teacher manuals, analyses and reports.

The Center is active and recognized thorought Bosnia and Herzegovina, through an extensive network of teachers, schools and certified trainers, thus through cooperation with other local and international organizations, as well as the Ministries of Education and Pedagogical Institutes.
